Saudi-Egyptian meeting postponed to prepare for president's speech before parliament
Prime Minister will visit Cairo Tuesday, International Cooperation Ministry is responsible for coordination meeting
Published in Daily News Egypt on 06 - 02 - 2016

A governmental source said the fifth meeting of the Saudi-Egyptian coordination council, which was planned for 10 February in Riyadh, has been postponed because President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi scheduled a speech in the House of Representatives on 13 February.
Official spokesperson of Egyptian Prime Minister Hossam El-Kawish told Daily News Egypt that Prime Minister Sherif Ismail will arrive in Cairo from the UAE on Tuesday after attending the government summit in Dubai. He will not travel to Riyadh to attend the meeting planned to be held on Wednesday morning for only a day.
Ismail and his accompanying delegation cancelled their trip on Wednesday from Dubai to Riyadh in order to return to Cairo and prepare Al-Sisi's speech before the parliament on 13 February, Sunday. The meeting must be attended by the prime minister and several other ministers.
Ismail was scheduled to head Egypt in the fifth meeting of the Saudi-Egyptian coordination council on 10 February. The source expected that the government will deliver an address of the economic and social plan to the House of Representative straight after the president's speech.
The source said the government delayed announcing the programme because the House of Representative rejected the Civil Service Law, which prompted the government to make amendments to the economic and social programme to be presented to the House of Representatives.
The government plans to present its economic and social programme to the House of Representatives to gain their confidence and continue running the country over the upcoming period.
