Al-Sisi attends China's 70th World War II anniversary celebrations Egypt's president also discusses establishment of Egypt-Sudan Committee with Sudanese counterpart
Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi attended a military parade in China's capital, Beijing, on Thursday, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. As part of the event, Al-Sisi also congratulated Chinese President Xi Jinxing. Whilst in China, President Al-Sisi and his Chinese counterpart signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, a cooperation deal that will boost production capacity. According to a statement by the presidential office, Al-Sisi underscored Egypt's interest in further advancing its strategic partnership with China. During his visit to China, Al-Sisi also met with Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir for talks focused on bilateral relations. They also discussed the importance of convening a joint Egypt-Sudan committee to follow up on issues of mutual interest. Al-Sisi's Asia tour started with a visit to Singapore on 30 August, where he held discussions with his Singaporean counterpart Tony Tan, and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and invited them to visit Egypt.
