China's President Xi Jinping welcomed his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi during their meeting on Wednesday, Al-Bawaba News reported. He expressed his appreciation to the President's keenness to participate in China's celebrations of its national day, saying, "Egypt's keenness to participate in our celebrations with a military parade reflects their serious desire to develop their relations with us." The Chinese President praised the economic achievement in Egypt, including the new Suez Canal project, stressing Egypt's importance as a regional power. On his part, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi congratulated his Chinese counterpart on the 70th Victory Day, in World War II, saying that the military parade came just to express the Egyptian people's participation in China's celebrations of this event. The President appreciated the efforts exerted to strengthen the strategic relations between Egypt and China, stressing, "We are looking forward to your excellency's visit to Egypt."
