The Egyptian Karate Team won the Karate Cadet and Junior World Cup held in the Spanish city of Guadalajara from 7 to 10 of November. The men's team gained nine medals, five of them being gold while the rest were Bronze. Ahmed Ibrahim won the 78 kg competition's gold medal, with teammate Gomaa Salama taking gold medal in the 55 kg competition. Mohamed Al-Kotby added another gold medal to the tally in the 67 kg competition. Adham Farid also topped the ranks of the 76 kg competition, while Ali Yaqoot in came first in the 70 kg competition. Four bronze medals were captured by Mohamed Hamdy, Abdel Rahman Khaled, Ahmed Ragab and the team of Islam Awad, Ziyad Abdel Rahman and Mahmoud Tawfik during the Kata competition. In women's competitions, Areej Youssef claimed the gold medal in the 53 kg competition, and her teammate Gianna Farouk did the same in the 60 kg competitions. Marah Magdy was first-placed in 53 kg competition. The 47 kg competition was won by Esraa Nabil. Bronze medals were also secured by Radwa Sayed and Maya Mahmoud. Japan came in second place, with France claiming the third spot.
