Forbes lists the world's richest people for 2013

Forbes' 27th annual report of the world's richest people of 2013 listed 1,426 billionaires, whose total assets totalled an estimated value of $5.4tn, compared to $4.6tn the year before, the result of the introduction of 200 new billionaires onto the world stage.
Of these billionaires, 442 live in the United States, with 386 in Asia and the Pacific, 366 in Europe, and 123 in the Middle East.
The average worth of those on the Forbes list was $3.8bn, with 138 of those listed being women, 34 more than in 2012. The women included Lilian Batancour, who placed 9th on the list with an estimated worth of $30bn.
Despite economic problems in Spain, Amancio Ortego, owner of the supermarket chain Zara Shahira, secured the largest increase in wealth compared to the previous year, with his total assets valued at an estimated $19.5bn.
In terms of richest Arabs, Prince Al-Walid Bin Talal came in at first place, and 26th on the list overall, with an estimated worth of $20bn, followed by Muhammad Al-Amudi of Saudi Arabia, the second richest Arab listed by Forbes, 65th on the list overall, with an estimated value of $13.5bn
