RAFAH: Five Egyptian-French dual nationals, including three children, died in a car accident Wednesday in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, reported the state news agency and hospital officials. The car crashed into an oncoming vehicle on a narrow section of highway just outside the Red Sea resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh, said the head of the emergency services for south Sinai, Saeid Eissa. There was no information about the occupants of the second vehicle. Two of the victims were men in their 40s and the children were between the ages of 9 and 13, according to the state news agency. The Sinai is a popular vacation spot for both Egyptians and foreign tourists but many of its roads are in poor condition and accidents are frequent. A third vehicle, a bus, came upon the crash, swerved and collided with the steep mountains bordering the road. Seven of its passengers were injured, some seriously, said Eissa. About 6,000 people die every year in road accidents in Egypt because of bad roads and poor traffic laws enforcement.
