CAIRO: Egypt assistant coach Shawki Gharib believes that the Pharaohs have an advantage over several African Cup of Nations rivals who weren't able to prepare well for the showdown this month. According to the Egypt second man, the African champions were fortunate to arrange two pre-tournament games with the likes of Malawi and Mali. We are lucky to be able to play against CAN 2010 teams like Malawi and Mali. Other teams are struggling to get that, Gharib said. Some teams in the competition were forced to play warm-up games with Asian and European sides; this is totally different from the African game. The pre-tournament camp in Dubai has been very positive. Players look motivated and enthusiastic in training. Egypt, who are out to defend a third straight title in Angola, drew with minnows Malawi 1-1 last week as they face Mali on Monday night.
