Egypt coach Hassan Shehata and his assistant Shawki Gharib are set to fly to Switzerland to attend the African World Cup qualifications draw on October 22nd. "The initial plan was to send someone on our behalf," Gharib told FilGoal.com on Saturday. "But the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) officials thought that as African Champions, Shehata and I should be there ourselves." Gharib added that preparations for the next phase will start straightaway after the Switzerland trip. "We want to arrange some friendly games. We didn't do that earlier in order to avoid facing any team that might be drawn in our group." Upon successfully leading group 12 in the second phase, The Pharaohs have been seeded first for the qualifiers' final stage.
