I received an invitation to join the group "Temptations on Facebook a few days back, and without checking what it is I clicked the reject button. But the next day, as I talked to my pregnant friend, she said, "have you checked out Temptations stuff? I have to call them up and make some orders. Answering my puzzled look, she explained, "They make those wrapped chocolate, trays, souvenirs, everything for special occasions . They are the best thing that happened. As soon as I got back home, I went online to find out more about the shop everyone is talking about. It's the brainchild of three young mothers: Sherin Abaza, Nelly El Mallawany and Yara Shilbaya. "The three of us were all living in Cairo and moved to Alexandria after we got married and we wanted to start a project here, explained El Mallawany. Being young mothers, the three had the experience and the knowledge required to throw a baby shower and shop for related baby products. Thus, they decided that their project would focus on chocolates and souvenirs for baby showers and chocolate trays and gift sets for people to take when visiting a couple to congratulate for their newborn. "For all the expecting moms, now is the chance to choose exclusive individual wrapped gourmet chocolate with different designs to welcome your precious one. Also for all those confused on buying presents for baby showers, Temptations is also your solution, said a post by Yara Shilbaya. However, they are also offering chocolate wrapping, souvenirs and decoration for engagement parties, weddings and other special events. Even though the project is based in Alexandria, orders can be made and samples can be found in Cairo as well. It takes them from three days to one week to finish the order. "If it is a tray or a gift set, it usually takes two days. On the other hand, the souvenirs usually take a longer time as the [customer] has to see the samples first and sometimes we have to order some of the material from Lebanon, said El Mallawany. Checking out the products, I was mesmerized by their creativity. The souvenirs include tiny baby jackets and bottles with chocolate attached; all are available in pink and blue. The trays is even more attractive and adorable, there is a cart carrying all the chocolate with a teddy bear pushing. There is a wide variety of trays, souvenirs and gift sets available, all designed and handmade by Abaza, El Mallawany and Shilbaya.
