Egyptian activists are planning a march at 9:30 AM Wednesday morning from outside al-Fath mosque in attempt to help the protesters who remain in Abbassiya and around the ministry of defense. Online activists were mobilizing others to join in the march, saying they intend to “free the trapped protesters who remain there.” Activists have reported at least 6 people are dead in the recent clashes that took place early Wednesday morning in a fresh attack from what they called “army sponsored thugs.” The Tahrir Doctors, a group of volunteers helping at makeshift hospitals near conflict zones, confirmed the use of live ammunition in a report issued early on Wednesday. They confirmed two deaths by gun fire to the head and said other cases remain critical due to wounds from being shot in the chest. The protesters, who have remained at the ministry of defense since Friday, want amendments to the presidential elections committee and an end to military rule in Egypt. They were attacked on Saturday by plainclothes men who hurled rocks, empty bottles and Molotov cocktails at the protesters. The ministry of health said Sunday that one man was found dead and the prosecutor ordered a forensic report to investigate the cause of death. Early on Wednesday a new attack was carried out by the unknown mob and activists say at least 6 were killed and 200 injured. Activists shared an online video showing balls of fire falling from atop a nearby bridge onto the protesters below and said the mob attacked them with Molotov cocktails injuring scores. Activists said the routes leading to the area in Abbassiya is highly dangerous, with tons of reports of passersby getting attacked.
