CAIRO: Egyptian security authorities announced they had foiled an infiltration attempt by eight Africans to Israel on Thursday. A security source said an Egyptian police patrol arrested the eight Africans as they combed the border with Israel at the international mark “No. 50,” a central region of the Sinai peninsula, on Thursday morning. The Africans were trying to pass the barbed wire into Israel. The source added that the Security force fired warning shots, “which led the Africans to stop, where they were arrested and admitted that they tried to sneak into Israel illegally to look for jobs.” The source said five of the group were Sudanese and three were Etheopian.
