Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 20 - 06 - 2019

Egypt's RiseUp Summit starts talks with Facebook, Inc to train Egyptian talented entrepreneurs through launching a local training hub, its CEO and co-founder, Abdelhameed Sharara said Wednesday.
Speaking at the International Council for Small Business' (ICSB) World Congress taking place in Cairo between June 18th – June 21st, Sharara said that
Furthermore, Egypt has one of the fastest growing startup ecosystems in the world and the second largest after the UAE. It is also witnessing a strong entrepreneurship wave, driven by a domestic appetite for technological advancement.
According to recent statistics, more than 73% of Egyptians think entrepreneurship is a good career choice, and a total of 46% of Egypt's adult population is able to recognize good market opportunities for new businesses.
The 2011 uprising and the economic repercussions encouraged young people in Egypt to think out of the box to fulfill their dreams through contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, Sharara added.
Founded in 1955, the ICSB is a non-profit organisation devoted to continuing management education for entrepreneurs and small business. It was the first international membership organisation to promote the growth and development of small businesses worldwide.
The organisation brings together educators, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners from around the world to share knowledge and expertise in their respective fields through publications, programs, workshops, training sessions and certifications.
RiseUp Summit is an annual entrepreneurship and innovation event that takes place in Downtown Cairo, Egypt. It has been described as “one of the largest gatherings of entrepreneurs in the region”. It started in 2013 to bring the MENA region's entrepreneurship ecosystem together. The summit is a three-day, entrepreneurship marathon.
