A consortium of Egypt-based CONSTEC, Petrojet, and Hassan Allam Holding is on track to start the implementation of a phosphate plant in Ain El-Sokhna. The plant will be part of a major phosphate fertilisers complex at Abu Tartour, in Red Sea. The Military-owned El-Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC) has mandated the consortium to carry out the plant, in cooperation with foreign partners, including two firms from Italy and China. The production of the anticipated phosphate plant will be both allocated for local market and exported to other markets, Talaat Fawzy, managing director of CONSTEC, told Amwal Al Ghad on Tuesday. Fawzy further said that his company had already started two weeks earlier the civil works on the plant, and is planning to carry out electricity works in cooperation with its partners in the consortium. Abu Tartour phosphate fertilisers complex, which will include nine large plants, is one of the biggest industrial projects in Ain El-Sokhna area, Fawzy added.
