Saudi Arabia seizes 15.2% of Egypt's agricultural crops in 10 month

Saudi Arabia has led the list of largest importers of Egypt's agricultural crops with ten-month imports worth 2.1 billion Egyptian pounds (US$268.3 million) , seizing 15.2 percent of the total volume.
According to a report issued Wednesday by the General Organisation for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), Egyptian exports of agricultural crops reached 14 billion pounds in January-October 2015 versus 13.9 billion pounds a year earlier, marking 1 percent increase.
Russia was the second largest importer of Egyptian agricultural crops with imports worth 1.8 billion pounds at the end of October 2015, followed by UK (1.1 billion pounds), Kuwait (939 million pounds), and UAE (829 million pounds).
The report stated that citrus have topped the list of the most exported agricultural crops whose exports recorded 3.1 billion pounds within the last ten months on 2015 then fruits with exports worth 2.5 billion pounds and potato whose exports registered 1.8 billion pounds.
In January-October 2015, the exports of onion and garlic hit 1.7 billion pounds while the exports of peanuts and leguminous crops reached 1.4 billion pounds.
The exports of vegetables are estimated at around 880 million pounds while the exports of other agricultural crops reached 454 million pounds. Additionally, the ten-month exports of rice worth 438 million pounds, the report added.
The report also clarified that the exports of medicinal and aromatic hit 346 million at the end of October 2015, while the exports of grain reached 11 million pounds and the exports of palms are estimated at 2 million pounds.
