16 Egyptian Police Conscripts Injured In South Sinai Bus Accident
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 20 - 07 - 2015

Sixteen Central Security Forces conscripts were injured in the early hours of Monday in South Sinai when their vehicle overturned on their way back to work following the Eid El-Fitr holiday.
The minibus, carrying 24 conscripts, overturned in Abu-Redes City, 120 kilometers from Tor Sinai.
Eight ambulances were dispatched to the site of the accident. Nine of the injured were transported to Tor Sinai General Hospital, while seven were transported to Abu-Redes Hospital.
A medical source told state news agency MENA that the injuries are minor, and that the conscripts can leave the hospital within a few hours.
A police investigation into the accident is underway and police are holding the driver of the vehicle in custody until they question the injured, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
Thousands die and tens of thousands are injured every year in car crashes in Egypt, notorious for its poor road safety record and loosely enforced traffic regulations.
‪In its latest report in April, the country's census authority said that over 14,400 road accidents occurred in Egypt in 2014, killing more than 6,200 people and injuring some 25,154 others.
‪Egypt's cabinet, however, has been working for the past year on 15 new road projects across Egypt – at least 1,200km – aiming to complete them before July 2015 as part of a national transportation development plan.
