Telecom Ministry Says Total IT Enterprises Capitals are EGP46.7 bln

An official report issued by the Egyptian Telecom Ministry revealed that the capitals of the companies operating in ICT sector boosted up EGP46.557 billion in April 2013 , against EGP 45.530 billion April 2012, move up by 1.36% growth rate.
The report added that the number of companies operating in ICT sector reached 5490 at the end of August 2013, registering 12.7% annual growth rate value in compared to the last year.
He pointed out that the number of mobile phone users declined by 0.15%, recording 96.7 million at the end of August 2013, compared 96.9 million during July, registering 2.97% annually record.
The report said the number of internet users reached 37.2 million with 3.9% monthly growth rate.
The report explained that the number of internet users via mobile phone reached 14.23 million, recording 7.8% monthly growth, whereas the number of USB modem subscribers are 3.6 million, with 8.5% monthly growth rate and 11.6% annually growth rate.
The report asserted that the number of fixed phone subscribers are 6.8 million with 3.5% annually decline, pointing out that the fixed line penetration rate of 8.3% with20.6% annual retreat.
