An official source of Information and Communication Technology Ministry (MCIT) has revealed the capital increasing for the enterprises operating in the sector to reach EGP 46.60 billion in May 2013 compared to 45.96 billion in 2012 with 1.40% annual growth rate and 0.10% monthly growth rate. The report has emphasized that the number of mobile phone users has raised to 94.57 million users by the end of May 2013 compared to 94.23 million in April 2012 with 0.37% monthly growth rate , the number of mobile phone users boosted in 2012 with annual growth rate 3.53%. The report said the rate of mobile phone penetration recorded 113.3% in May-end 2013 achieving boosting in compared to May 2012 with 1.47% annual growth rate. The report revealed that the number of internet users up 33.26 million users with 0.54% decline and annual growth 7.92% compared to the same period of the last year. The report has asserted that the number of fixed phone users reached 8.66 million with 1% annual growth rate, explaining that the penetration rate of fixed phone is 10.6% with 1.03% annual decline. The report said the number of the companies operating in ICT sector reached 5372 companies in May 2013 achieving 13.17% annual growth rate boosting. Moreover, the report has emphasized that the number of postal offices reached 3823 offices, the total number of the employers post offices population 4.69 million, and the number of postal orders 1.012 million of the bank annual growth rate of 20%.
