Egypt exported around 4,655 food consignments totalling 194,000 tons last week, with Yemen and Saudi Arabia among the top destinations, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) said in its weekly report covering 15-21 November. The shipments, originating from 1,462 companies, included around 875 product varieties, ranging from vegetables and tubers to flour, grains, fruits, and prepared food products. Among vegetables, sweet potatoes led exports at 10,000 tons, followed by onions at 7,000 tons and beans at 5,000 tons, totalling 37,000 tons across 40 varieties. Citrus fruits topped the fruit exports at 11,000 tons, followed by pomegranates and strawberries at roughly 6,000 tons each, totalling 33,000 tons across 30 varieties.
