Egypt's health ministry deployed 10 ambulances within minutes of a crash on the Alexandria–Matrouh highway that killed two people and injured 18, according to an official statement Thursday. The first ambulance reached the site two minutes after the alert, the ministry said. Victims were taken to El-Dabaa Central Hospital, while another 10 ambulances were put on standby in case of further emergencies. The ministry extended condolences to the victims' families. Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar is closely monitoring the situation and directed his deputy to oversee care at the hospital. Hospitals in Matrouh and neighboring governorates have been placed on high alert. The collision involved a truck and several cars, the statement said.
