The Egyptian Organisation for Standardisation and Quality (EOS) signed a cooperation protocol with the Centre for Research and Regenerative Medicine (ECRRM), a unit of the Ministry of Defence, to strengthen biomedical technology and quality standards, the Cabinet said on Thursday. The agreement covers joint research, specialised training, workshops and technical knowledge exchange, as well as promoting international quality standards, laboratory accreditation and medical product safety. EOS Chairman Khaled Soufi said the deal links scientific research with global standards, highlighting the role of biobanks in advancing research and safely preserving biological resources to support medicine and public health. He added that the protocol also addresses sustainable medical tourism and good research practices, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030 strategy to boost the country's regional and international standing. The Cabinet said the move seeks to unify national efforts to strengthen biomedical research and technological development, improve healthcare, and ensure the production of safe, high-quality medical products for Egyptians.
