Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) head Ali El-Ghamrawy on Thursday met with representatives from Sandoz Egypt to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation in developing Egypt's pharmaceutical sector, the Cabinet said on Thursday. The discussions focused on potential regional initiatives and memoranda of understanding aimed at improving access to high-quality medicines in the Egyptian market. The two sides also reviewed current challenges in the local pharmaceutical industry and future opportunities to strengthen Sandoz's position as a long-term strategic partner in the healthcare sector. El-Ghamrawy reaffirmed the EDA's commitment to supporting strategic partners by streamlining regulatory procedures for registration and licensing, ensuring timely patient access to safe and effective medications. The delegation expressed a strong commitment to supporting Egypt's vision for healthcare sector development by investing in advanced technologies, promoting local manufacturing, and expanding partnerships with healthcare institutions. Ahmed Bedeir, head of Sandoz Egypt and Libya, emphasised plans to expand the company's presence in Egypt and enhance its growth strategy as a key strategic partner in the country's pharmaceutical ecosystem. The meeting highlights EDA's efforts to enhance partnerships with global firms, promote local pharmaceutical production, and improve access to quality medicines in alignment with Egypt's Vision 2030 goals for healthcare.
