Egypt's Minister of Planning Rania Al-Mashat met Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs FUJII Hisayuki on the sidelines of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), the Egyptian Cabinet stated on Thursday. Talks reviewed progress in the ongoing development cooperation portfolio and projects under implementation, including Cairo's metro lines. Both sides expressed anticipation for the planned opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in November, a flagship example of Egypt-Japan cooperation. Al-Mashat reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening partnerships with Japanese institutions such as the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
