Egypt's Ministry of Local Development has completed furnishing 332 government service complexes across 20 governorates under the first phase of the presidential initiative Haya Karima (Decent Life), with investments reaching 660 million Egyptian pounds. Minister of Local Development Manal Awad said the supply and installation of standard furniture for the complexes, spread across 52 administrative centres, has been finalised, ensuring the facilities are fully prepared to deliver services to citizens. The furnishings were entirely manufactured in national factories, using mostly local inputs. The minister added that the ministry is also working with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to equip the complexes with technological infrastructure, including computers and related systems, at a total cost of 423 million Egyptian pounds. The process is expected to be completed before the end of 2025. She stressed the importance of regular maintenance and responsible use of these assets to safeguard public funds, highlighting the ministry's ongoing coordination with governorates and local units to ensure efficient operations.
