Egypt exported 210,000 tons of food products in the week ending August 15, 2025, with sweet potatoes and strawberries topping the list of outbound shipments, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) reported Sunday. A total of 3,400 consignments were exported by 1,220 companies, covering 660 categories of molasses, vegetables, fruits, flour, and processed food items. Vegetable exports reached 30,000 tons, with sweet potatoes leading the pack at 11,000 tons, followed by mixed vegetables at 5,000 tons, and onions at 4,000 tons each. Fruit exports reached 26,000 tons, with strawberries leading at 8,000 tons, followed by mangoes at around 7,000 tons, and pomegranates at 4,000 tons. The Italy, India, the United States, and the United Kingdom were among the top destinations for Egyptian food exports, which reached a total of 180 importing countries during the week.
