Egypt exported 170,000 tons of food products in the week ending August 8, 2025, with sweet potatoes and strawberries topping the list of outbound shipments, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) reported Sunday. A total of 3,470 consignments were exported by 1,200 companies, covering 650 categories of vegetables, fruits, flour, and processed food items. Vegetable exports reached 33,000 tons, with sweet potatoes leading the pack at 7,000 tons, followed by potatoes and beans at 6,000 tons each. Fruit exports reached 30,000 tons, with strawberries leading at 10,000 tons, followed by mangoes at around 7,000 tons, and fresh grapes at 3,000 tons. The United States, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, and Somalia were among the top destinations for Egyptian food exports, which reached a total of 166 importing countries during the week.
