EGX ends in green on August 12

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed higher on Tuesday, with broad gains across benchmarks.
The blue-chip EGX30 index rose 0.26 per cent to 36,003.65 points, while the EGX33 Shariah index inched up 0.01 per cent to 3,644.78 points. The EGX35-LV gained 0.30 per cent to 3,844.64 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.57 per cent to 10,646.9 points, and the broader EGX100 advanced 0.44 per cent to 14,321.16 points.
Total market capitalisation stood at 2.50 trillion Egyptian pounds. Egyptians were net buyers with 8.51 billion pounds, while Arab investors and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 6.41 billion and 2.10 billion pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
1. Shares of Sues Canal Company for Technology Settling soared 14.75 per cent to 162.510 Egyptian pounds a share.
2. Shares of El-Nile Co. for Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries climbed 13.60 per cent to close at 46.100 per cent a share.
3. Shares of Misr Oils and Soap jumped 11.96 per cent, closing at 214.520 Egyptian pounds.
To losers
1. Shares of El Kahera El Watania Investment dived 4.26 per cent to 84.640 Egyptian pounds at closing.
2. Shares of Cairo Poultry sank 3.63 per cent to close at 19.670 Egyptian pounds a share.
3. Shares of Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. slid 3.63 per cent, closing at 3.450 Egyptian pounds a share.
