Egypt's national electricity grid has recorded a maximum load of 38,900 megawatts on Monday, exceeding Sunday's peak of 38,400 MW, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy said in a statement on Monday. The National Energy Control Centre (NCEE) confirmed that the unified grid successfully absorbed the surge in consumption while maintaining stable power supply and uninterrupted service. The ministry said it has raised the state of readiness across the electricity system — including generation, transmission, and distribution — in line with operational plans to cope with the continuing heatwave in the coming days. Support and maintenance teams, occupational safety crews, and inspection committees have been reinforced, with additional resources deployed in specific companies to ensure network security and service continuity. The statement added that customer service centres have extended working hours and added extra teams to handle complaints and outage reports, aiming for rapid response and adherence to quality standards in service delivery.
