Egypt's Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Monday with Colombian Presidential Advisor for the Middle East, Víctor de Currea-Lugo to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in providing medical aid to Palestinians in Gaza, the health ministry said. Talks at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital focused on Colombia's readiness to support Egypt's efforts in delivering humanitarian and medical assistance, including prosthetic limbs for injured Palestinians receiving treatment in Egypt. Minister Abdel Ghaffar praised the "outstanding" diplomatic ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to offering medical services to Gaza patients and the wounded, whether through aid shipments or hospital care in Egypt. The meeting also discussed bolstering Egypt's medical teams in orthopaedics, reconstructive surgery and prosthetics, identifying needs to improve services, and enhancing cooperation between health and research institutions in both nations.
