European shares slipped on Monday as investors stayed cautious ahead of key US inflation data, ongoing tariff talks, and a high-stakes US-Russia summit on the Ukraine war. The pan-European STOXX 600 fell 0.16 per cent by 10:17 a.m. GMT, with Germany's DAX down 0.33 per cent, France's CAC 40 off 0.26 per cent, and Spain's IBEX 35 dropping 0.47 per cent. The UK's FTSE 100 gained 0.24 per cent, while Switzerland's SMI rose 0.29 per cent. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy secured support from Europe and NATO ahead of Friday's Alaska meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
