Egypt's Ministry of Industry and Transport has established a permanent branch of the Decennial Insurance Pool at the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) headquarters, effective August 1, 2025, its report said on Wednesday. The mandate of the Decennial Insurance Pool includes, but is not limited to, covering civil liability related to construction workers. In coordination with the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, the step is aimed to offer direct services to investors on obtaining factory construction permits, the statement added. Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir announced that the ministry is streamlining licensing procedures for investors. The minister explained that this step comes as part of the Ministry of Industry's policy to facilitate procedures for investors and reduce the time needed to complete them, in coordination with all relevant authorities. It also complements the ongoing efforts to streamline investor interaction through a single-window system managed by the General Authority for Industrial Development. This approach follows previous cooperation with the Environmental Affairs Agency and the Civil Protection Department, where representatives and consultants from these bodies are present weekly at the Authority as part of joint committees that meet regularly to review and decide on industrial investors' applications Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M.
