Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib held a virtual meeting with members of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) to review performance and align efforts with Egypt's economic priorities. El Khatib highlighted key initiatives aimed at improving the investment climate and facilitating foreign trade, including the overhaul of Egypt's customs clearance system and boosting efficiency at border crossings. He stressed the importance of digital transformation in streamlining trade and investment operations. The minister also underlined the ministry's long-term strategic vision, which incorporates monetary, fiscal and trade policies, all crucial factors influencing foreign investors' decisions. El Khatib pointed to a package of economic, trade, and investment reforms set to be completed by September, aiming to attract more foreign investment and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.
