Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib held a meeting with senior executives from major Japanese companies in Tokyo, as part of efforts to strengthen economic ties, an official statement has said. Over 12 senior executives from Japanese industries attended the meeting, highlighting the increasing economic ties between the two nations and Japan's interest in investing in Egypt as a gateway to Africa. El-Khatib presented Egypt's recent economic indicators and outlined priority investment opportunities, highlighting more than a decade of infrastructure development that has enhanced trade flows and improved the business climate. Talks also explored cooperation in wind energy, logistics ports, green hydrogen, and export-oriented industrial zones, as well as potential ventures in machinery, chemicals, smart transport, and infrastructure financing.
