Egypt's Food Export Council (FEC) signed an MoU with the Alexandria Businessmen Association (ABA) on Tuesday to enhance the competitiveness of the country's food industries and expand its base of exporters. The agreement aims to integrate institutional efforts in support of exporters and strengthen services offered by the council to companies seeking access to international markets, as per the statement. The two entities will exchange data, export statistics, and international market studies. They will also co-organise interactive workshops and seminars at their headquarters covering topics including export logistics and food safety. Further areas of collaboration include the preparation and presentation of specialised market studies, joint training programmes, and digital promotion of services through interconnected platforms. The two sides will also explore the creation of joint working groups to assess sector challenges and develop innovative solutions to advance Egypt's food manufacturing industry, according to the FEC's statement. This partnership comes as part of broader efforts to support Egypt's export-oriented economy and strengthen the role of the private sector in achieving the government's $145 billion export target across all sectors.
