Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) head Ali El-Ghamrawy met with representatives from Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis to discuss strengthening strategic cooperation and expanding the company's operations in Egypt, the Cabinet said. During the meeting, Novartis reaffirmed its commitment to localising drug manufacturing in Egypt and supporting the government's vision to enhance the competitiveness of locally made medicines. El-Ghamrawy stressed the importance of supporting local industry, cutting import reliance, and boosting access to high-quality drugs in both domestic and regional markets, according to the statement. The discussions form part of EDA's ongoing efforts to foster public-private partnerships and elevate the local pharmaceutical industry's global presence through sustainable, high-quality production.
