Vitabiotics Egypt plans to invest 600 million Egyptian pounds to expand its pharmaceutical and dietary supplement production lines as part of its strengthened collaboration with Egypt's Drug Authority (EDA). EDA Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy met on Wednesday with Sherif Rashed, chairman of Apicure, the exclusive partner of Vitabiotics Egypt, to discuss efforts to localise biopharmaceutical industries and support scientific research and pharmacist training. Discussions covered launching awareness initiatives to promote the rational use of medicines, enhancing pharmaceutical inspection to uphold quality standards, and reviewing the authority's vision for Egypt's pharmaceutical sector. El-Ghamrawy reaffirmed the EDA's commitment to providing technical and procedural support to industry partners while fostering expertise exchange to maximise global pharmaceutical best practices. He stressed the authority's focus on strengthening Egypt's pharmaceutical security and achieving comprehensive healthcare integration. For his part, Rashed highlighted Vitabiotics' commitment to the localisation strategy and confirmed that the investment will enhance production capacity, supporting Egypt's drive for self-sufficiency in medical products.
