Egypt expects a rise in local energy production starting in August, when two new oil fields in the Western Desert are set to begin operations, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday. "Despite the challenges, we are on track to meet the country's energy needs and support the industrial sector," the prime minister told a press briefing in Cairo. The planned increase in domestic output comes as Egypt steps up efforts to secure energy supplies amid rising consumption and regional instability. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
