European shares slide amid geopolitical unrest

European shares declined on Tuesday as the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel entered its fifth day, heightening fears of broader regional instability and driving investors away from risk assets.
The pan-European STOXX 600 slipped 0.94 per cent by 11:37 GMT. France's CAC 40 dropped 0.69 per cent, while Spain's IBEX 35 saw a sharper decline of 1.28 per cent. Germany's DAX fell 0.84 per cent, and the UK's FTSE 100 edged down 0.30 per cent.
Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have weighed heavily on investor sentiment, pushing markets into risk-off mode.
