Egypt's Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif and UN Resident Coordinator Elena Panova have discussed enhancing cooperation to support Egypt's pre-university education reform and achieve Sustainable Development Goals, as per a Cabinet report. Abdel Latif praised the UN's continued role in supporting Egypt's educational sector. He stressed the importance of sustained collaboration to ensure quality education and promote equal learning opportunities for all. Panova praised Egypt's education system reforms this year, highlighting improved school attendance, reduced classroom overcrowding, and quality advancements. She reaffirmed the UN's commitment to supporting the ministry's strategic priorities. The meeting addressed several key areas of cooperation, including inclusive education, tackling school dropout rates, and developing curricula to promote digital and skills-based learning. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and expand their joint partnership, with a focus on aligning the Ministry of Education's priorities with the UN-Egypt cooperation framework, the statement said. They also underscored the importance of developing human capital, linking technical education to labour market needs, and fostering a culture of innovation and lifelong learning to serve Egypt's national development goals.
