Bank Indonesia cuts interest rate to 5.5%

The Bank Indonesia Board of Governors Meeting decided to lower the interest rate by 25 basis points to 5.50 per cent, according to the bank's statement on Wednesday.
The Deposit Facility interest rate was also reduced by 25 basis points to 4.75 per cent, while the Lending Facility interest rate was decreased by 25 basis points to 6.25 per cent, the statement showed.
This decision is aligned with the Bank Indonesia's forecast of low inflation in 2025 and 2026, which is expected to remain within the target range of 2.5±1 per cent.
