European shares increased on Monday following the announcement of a deal between the United States and China to reduce reciprocal tariffs, easing concerns of a potential trade war. The STOXX 600 index rose 0.9 per cent at 0853 GMT, with Germany up 1.1 per cent, France up 1.3 per cent, Spain rising 0.7 per cent, and the UK gaining 0.5 per cent. German sportswear manufacturers Adidas and Puma saw increases of 2.7 per cent and 4.8 per cent, respectively. European logistics firms, including Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, also experienced gains of 11.6 per cent and 12 per cent, respectively, following news of the deal. Attribution: Reuters Subediting: Y.Yasser
