GASTEC has partnered with Novartis Egypt to implement Egypt's first biogas production and transport project, aiming to support sustainability efforts and reduce emissions. The agreement will see GASTEC supply biogas to Novartis' Cairo manufacturing plant using its advanced system for transporting biomethane for industrial applications. Moreover, GASTEC will utilise locally developed, patented technology for gas reduction, which has been approved by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS). The project aligns with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' strategy to diversify energy sources and enhance environmental sustainability. Novartis Egypt stated that it's committed to achieving zero carbon emissions in the coming years and has already reduced emissions by 75 per cent by sourcing clean energy from renewable sources.
