Egypt's Ministry of Labour signed on Wednesday a cooperation protocol with the Arab Academy for Training, headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to implement specialised training programmes aimed at preparing Egyptian workers for the retail sector. Under the agreement, the initiative will cover training in retail roles such as cashier, sales specialist, sales assistant, showroom supervisor, store manager and area manager. The academy will be responsible for designing and delivering the programmes, providing training halls, labs, virtual sales systems, practical training facilities, and e-learning platforms (LMS). It will also appoint qualified instructors, issue accredited certificates, and submit regular progress reports to the ministry. For its part, the ministry will allocate a location for the academy at one of its training centres, facilitate licensing and administrative procedures, assist in selecting and nominating trainees, provide necessary background information, monitor training outcomes, support graduate employment, and help accredit the training programmes.
