President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Jordan and its unwavering support in confronting all forms of terrorism and extremist groups targeting the kingdom's security and stability. During a phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan on Saturday, Sisi stressed the importance of joint cooperation to fulfil the aspirations of the peoples for a safe and stable life. The two leaders discussed the current situation in Palestine, focusing on efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. They also addressed developments in the West Bank and firmly rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land. Both leaders reaffirmed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the sole guarantee for lasting peace and stability in the Middle East. The call also covered ways to strengthen Egypt-Jordan relations and expand cooperation to serve mutual interests and enhance their strategic partnership.
