Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with the digital economy and entrepreneurship committee at the Egypt Digital Innovation Hub to discuss developing the outsourcing industry and boosting digital exports. The meeting tackled the Digital Egypt Strategy for the Development of the Outsourcing Industry 2022–2026. The strategy aims to boost digital exports, improve Egypt's competitiveness in research and development, and create sustainable job opportunities in the cross-border services sector. Talaat highlighted the government's efforts to create a supportive environment for expanding the investments of global and local companies in Egypt's outsourcing sector, as per a Cabinet statement on Thursday. He underscored Egypt's position as a leading global destination for IT and outsourcing services. He noted that over 180 international and local companies currently operate more than 200 specialised centres exporting digital services from Egypt, a sharp increase from 64 companies in 2021. Talaat highlighted the job opportunities in the outsourcing industry for young Egyptians and the government's efforts to enhance these opportunities through specialised training programs for youth to develop the necessary skills for the sector. Egypt's competitive advantages, such as cost-effectiveness, advanced digital infrastructure, a skilled youth pool, and strategic location, make it an appealing outsourcing destination.
