Gold prices slightly increased on Wednesday due to growing worries about US President Donald Trump's tariff proposals and tensions in the Middle East, leading to heightened interest in the safe-haven asset. As of 12:42 GMT, spot gold rose 0.19 per cent to $3,039.98 per ounce, surpassing its previous close of $3,034.13.
