Egypt and Cyprus have reaffirmed the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and uphold international law. Both sides emphasised the importance of resolving crises through peaceful means. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi highlighted the necessity of ongoing consultation and coordination between the two nations, including through the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Greece. During a meeting in Cairo on Tuesday with Anita Demetriou, Speaker of the Cypriot House of Representatives, President Sisi underscored the strength of the ties between Egypt and Cyprus. He affirmed Egypt's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, particularly in energy, trade, and investment. He also stressed the significance of political coordination and parliamentary cooperation as key pillars for strengthening relations and mutual understanding between the two nations. Speaker Demetriou praised the exceptional level of relations between Egypt and Cyprus. She noted that her visit reflected the shared commitment to maintaining parliamentary exchanges.
