Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 06 - 02 - 2025

Egypt reiterates its steadfast commitment to working with regional and international partners to support the reconstruction of Gaza and advance Palestinian interests, said Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Thursday.
During his meeting with Prime Minister of the State of Palestine Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister Madbouly reaffirmed that Egypt, under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives, will dedicate its resources and expertise to the reconstruction process. He highlighted the capabilities of Egyptian companies in contributing to rebuilding Gaza's infrastructure.
The discussions centered on the latest developments in Gaza and Egypt's efforts to facilitate reconstruction, laying the groundwork for the unification of the West Bank and Gaza in alignment with broader efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state.
The discussions focused on the latest developments in Gaza and Egypt's efforts to facilitate reconstruction, with the broader goal of unifying the West Bank and Gaza as part of efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state.
Prime Minister Madbouly reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, particularly their right to self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also reaffirmed Egypt's firm rejection of any proposals involving the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, a stance previously declared by President El-Sisi.
The meeting also addressed the Palestinian Authority's ongoing assessment of Gaza's destruction, prioritisation of reconstruction efforts, and collaboration with international organizations to mobilise aid. Prime Minister Mustafa confirmed that the Palestinian government will work closely with UNRWA to restore essential services for Palestinian refugees in Gaza. He expressed deep appreciation for Egypt's longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, including its humanitarian assistance since the war began on October 7, 2023. He also aligned with Egypt's position against displacement and stressed the urgent need for Gaza's reconstruction. Additionally, he commended President El-Sisi's firm stance in supporting Palestinian rights and acknowledged the importance of international cooperation in rebuilding efforts.
The talks were attended by Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, and Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy. Representing Palestine were Minister of Interior Ziad Hab Al-Reeh, Minister of International Cooperation and Planning Wael Zakout, Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad, and Palestine's Ambassador to Cairo, Diab Al-Louh.
