Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met with tourism investors on Thursday to assess the progress of development along the Western North Coast, particularly from west of Ras El-Hekma to east of Marsa Matrouh, according to a Cabinet statement. Prime Minister Madbouly emphasised the importance of aligning investment projects with the state's vision to attract more tourists and ensure year-round activity beyond the summer season. He stressed the need for integrated developments, including a continuous seaside promenade connecting projects, and mandated that all coastal tourism ventures incorporate hotel facilities alongside residential components. Moving forward, no new projects will be approved without a hotel component, reinforcing the government's goal of positioning the North Coast as a premier global tourism destination by expanding hotel capacity. He also underscored the importance of well-planned commercial spaces that maintain aesthetic harmony and align with the region's broader development strategy. With the upcoming transformation of Ras El-Hekma, the prime minister highlighted the necessity of a comprehensive long-term vision for the area. During the meeting, tourism investors outlined key challenges affecting their development plans, including the need for improved infrastructure and services such as healthcare, administrative facilities, police stations, an airport, and a yacht marina. They also called for an international marketing campaign to promote the region and expressed willingness to contribute financially to such efforts. Investors further showcased their initiatives to expand hotel capacity, highlighting the growing interest from international tourists in visiting Egypt's North Coast.
