Egypt's Deputy Minister of Health Mohamed El-Tayeb held a meeting to follow up on the progress of the ministry's website development, according to a Cabinet statement on Wednesday. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the specialised digital solutions firm, Assets, the statement said. The official website development project is a key pillar of the ministry's digital transformation efforts, providing various services to make health information and services more accessible to citizens. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the deputy minister stressed the urgency of completing all technical and administrative procedures. He directed officials to expedite data collection from relevant authorities to facilitate the trial launch of the platform. The project is scheduled to be finished by May 2025 and is part of a broader strategy to modernise public healthcare services and support medical tourism. The meeting included a presentation on recent updates such as a better user interface, specialised services for healthcare professionals, public health education tools, simplified licensing procedures, and an interactive map of Egypt's healthcare system.
