A Muslim Brotherhood (MB) delegation visited Ayman Nour, founder of Ghad (tomorrow) Party, at his home two days ago. Hamdi Hassan, spokesman for the MB parliamentary bloc, described the visit as "social", denying that it aimed to coordinate or agree on a joint action between the group and Ghad Party. “MB extends its hands to various political forces, confirming that there would not be change in Egypt without a joint action, as any single political faction or party would not be able to bring about change. However, it is too early to talk about coordination between the national forces now,” Hassan said.
The delegation, which included MPs Ali Fatah el-Bab and Hussein Ibrahim, has confirmed that Nour's relation to parliament and his political history are the reasons behind the visit. "We have not come to speak on behalf of the MB Guidance Bureau, but we came to visit a released colleague," Fatah el-Bab said.
In response to a question by al-Masry Al-Youm on the group's willingness to coordinate with the liberal parties, Nour smiled and said: "Why not?" Hassan said that the areas of agreement between the opposition forces (MB and political parties) are more than the differences. The joint action with the opposition parties may be added to the group's agenda.
For his part, Nour has welcomed all dialogue with the various political forces. “The parliamentary and presidential elections are soon, so the opposition forces should coordinate with each other,” he said. On the other hand, Osama Ghazali Harb, leader of the Democratic Front Party, has agreed on Nour joining the opposition parties' coalition, provided the other parties of the coalition agree. In his yesterday's meeting with the party members, Harb said the centers of power have again appeared, so agreement among the opposition parties in the coming period has become a life-or-death issue. He pointed out that he may enter into a "political dialogue" with MB although he opposes 99% of their attitudes and perspectives.
